Brad Battin MP and I have today announced a new $5.7million fire station for Clyde North if they win government in 2018.
The new fire station will be integrated with the recently announced election commitment of new police station in Clyde North.
Clyde North is one of the fastest growing suburbs in Victoria, with six families moving into the area each day.
Between 2014 and 2016 the City of Casey grew by 25,000, a growth of 8.65% and it is anticipated that the population will reach 515,000 by 2041.
The new station will begin as volunteer station an opportunity for the community to become involved in volunteering.
There are currently no fire stations in the suburb of Clyde North, with Clyde and Cranbourne stations struggling to accommodate the growing neighbouring suburb.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin:
Matthew Guy and the Liberal Nationals are committed to keeping Victorians and their homes safe. Only the Liberal Nationals will commit to funding vital community safety projects like a fire station in Clyde North.
Daniel Andrews has been so busy fighting a war with CFA volunteers that communities like Clyde North have suffered.
Comments attributable to Member for Bass, Brian Paynter:
The suburb of Clyde North has seen massive population growth and needs its own protection against crime and fire.
People deserve to know their families and homes will be kept sage in the event of a fire- the Liberal Nationals will ensure that happens.
