Brian Paynter is the State Member for Bass and was elected on 29 November 2014.
Brian grew up in Pakenham where his family ran a local newsagency. Following in his father’s footsteps, Brian started his own small business, building a successful accounting firm from the ground up.
Brian has always been an active member of his community and is an ambassador for the White Ribbon Foundation and involved with Make a Wish Foundation. Brian was Chairman of the Casey Cardinia Foundation for ten years, served on the board of Outlook (Vic) Inc for 16 years and is School Council President at Pakenham Secondary College.
Brian is a father of three daughters, so knows the importance of good local schools and health services. Brian will continue to work hard to make sure that locals have access to the best quality education, and the best possible health care.
Brian is committed to improving the lives of young people by raising awareness of youth mental health and suicide, improving education and job opportunities and helping to provide a better start to life for young people in our region.
Brian understand that every community in Bass has individual needs. Brian will represent the voices of locals whether they live in the Pakenham grown area, large towns like Wonthaggi, picturesque communities like Phillip Island and Inverloch, or small regional towns.
Brian loves living locally and is passionate about advocating for the delivery of infrastructure and the services needed in the electorate.
